East Selkirk Skills Baseball Camp

With sports allowed to resume on June 1st but the baseball season officially cancelled for younger athletes, ESRA has managed to start baseball camp for the 9U group in order to keep at least some of the sports community moving. Sessions started on June 9th and run until the end of the month. After completing a dynamic warm-up, athletes rotate through skill sessions and end with a game, following baseball Manitoba Grand Slam guidelines.

The camp has been designed to comply with the Province's recommendations on the resumption of sports, with a great deal of effort going into measures such as providing hand sanitizer stations at the fields, sanitizing equipment, designing drills and games that allow for social distancing, and limiting the number of players and attendees at each field. It's been a challenge, but has been well worth the effort thus far judging by the smiles on the kids' faces. A big thanks to the facility staff, board members and parent volunteers who have made this happen!
